Spouse Name: Louise. Family info: Louise and I have been married for 48 years, and we have three boys - twins, Larry and Steven (47) and Kenneth (40). All of them live very near us in Saratoga. My son Larry has his own business laying floors. Steve works at Cisco as a product specialist and between them they have three grandchildren Gregory, Ryan and Kevin, 15,14,13. Like all grandparents we think that they are the best kids that ever existed. They all play some instruments and they are active in all of the normal school events. My son Ken Is now looking for a job and we think that he will be moving to Fresno at the end of April. Job info: For a large part of my life, after I spent four years in Navy electronics, I was involved with technology. I started in the Aerospace Industry with North American Aviation and from there went into technology sales. My jobs took us many places. We lived back in Dallas, In Southern California, In New York and Northern California and Japan for a couple of years. In Japan I was Manager of a Joint venture between a Japanese company and American Microsystems. On my return to the country I founded a small electronics company making LCD time pieces. N. Marcus featured some of our products. I went on to start a venture capital backed company, Photon Dynamics. I was the first President. The company is now a public company and has a substantial world wide market share of the test and inspection equipment business for flat panel displays (like those used in lap top computers and the new hang-on-the-wall televisions). After I retired as President of Photon Dynamics, I started a very small consulting firm , Bottom Line Ventures. Along with two other associates we consulted in management and even brokered a sale for a local company to Texas Instruments. All in all I had a very active business life. Meanwhile my wife kept the home fires burning brightly and helped make it all possible. Including I might add becoming the first paid employ of Photon Dynamics. She wouldn't work for nothing like my partner and I were doing, she demanded that we pay her. For several years she held down the office and the financial end while my partner and I raised money and traveled. Pursuits after retirement: After living in Silicon Valley for the past 29 years and being a confirmed Californian, we got involved in sailing. For ten years we owned a 35 foot cutter rigged sail boat, "Quintessence", and sailed her up and down the coast and in and around San Francisco bay. Like in all things Louise was my best crew. She can do it all, handle sails with the galley and even entertain guests while doing it. Since I retired we have given the boat to the Sea Scouts and taken to sailing on larger cruise ships. Louise and I now travel at every opportunity, and in 2002 made 5 international trips; Africa, Mexico, Spain, Cruised the WWII Pacific Islands. and spent three weeks in Morocco. We also spent New Year's Eve on the Mississippi Queen: Things Would Do Different: If I went back to high school again, I don't believe that I would do anything much differently. While maybe we all like to think that we could do some things better, I believe we would probably just make different mistakes and our lives wouldn't change much. The people I met at school and the social skills that came from them carried me over life's bumpy path and for that I thank them one and all. (One thing I might do is learn to spell, thank God for spell checkers.). Comments: I was happy to find that NDHS is still around and has such an active alumni group. |

(Hughes) McArthur, Janelle |
JanelleMac@AOL.COM |
After SMU, Janelle married and has sinced lived in San Antonio. She attended the 45th Reunion, where she really had a ball, not having seen anyone since 49. She plans to go next year to 50th. As far as she knows, no other NDHS alums live in San Antonio. She and Emily Mitchell really had a ball at the 45th reunion since they had not seen anyone since '49. Janelle has a small business, Political Advocacy and Fundraising, where her clients have been all the way from Nixon to the local JP! She is a George Bush kind of Republican (both Governor and President) and flew down from San Antonio to Hebbronville TX years ago with George Bush and Jeb and Columba Bush who at that time were madly in love. This year she has raised over $500,000 in San Antonio for Congressman Henry Bonilla, Judge Pat Boone, the National Republican Congressional Committee, Commissioner Novak, American Dream PAC, etc. Janelle just confirmed a date with Senator Kay Hutchison TX for an event next month. She loves what she does, but is not going to do any more campaign management, which she did for years. Ten years ago, she was asked to do a US Senate campaign for Norman Braman (Miami). She flew over and spent 2 days with him and his wife, but advised him not to run, due to too many obstacles. Later, Braman bought the Philadelphia Eagles and became very controversial. San Antonio has a NFL owner now – Red McCombs of the Minnesota Vikings. (His son-in-law is one of Janelle’s clients so Emily Mitchell reports an immediate allegiance and says "Boo Cowboys"! Janelle played tennis for 20+ years then 4 years ago took up golf, which she plays three times a week. She is not taking on any new clients so she can do her golf thing. |

Spouse name: Claudia. College info: University of Texas El Paso - B.S. in Math, Chemistry and Physics. Family info: Three sons; Sid Moore Jr., Frank and Randy Five Grand Children and two Great Grand Sons. Job info: Taught High School Physics (one semester): Worked as as a Chemist for three years: Sold Pharmaceuticals for 28 years: Owned and operated Morley Petroleum Inc. before retiring at age 60. After retirement: I have not really changed any of my activities after retirement, my prime pursuit now is work in the church. I am an Elder in the Montwood Church of Christ here in El Paso and I was an Elder in the church in Ojai, CA prior to moving here. I am a Past Master of the Ojai Masonic Lodge and have a major interest in the benevolent work of both the church and the Masonic Lodge. Hobbies: Garden Railroad (G scale) is a past passion as my age does not allow for frequent bending to "work" on trains any longer. Influence: Honestly, I was so very immature when at NDHS, I don't remember how any of it had an influence on my life, although I am sure that it did because my memories of those years were all good. It was my third year of college, I met and married a little blond cheer leader, that made me mature and "grow-up". Things Different: No, I would not change a thing, if I did it might make the outcome different. I would rather have not had my first wife (Helen) die with out me but I later met and married my nurse (Claudia). Comments: My life has been extra ordinary and I am very happy. I do hope that your life has been as good as or better than mine. |
