Family info: Son Donald lives in Akron and is a Consulting Engineer. Job info: Worked at Southwestern Bell in Dallas, Indiana Bell in South Bend, IN, Ohio Bell, Akron, OH, AT&T Akron, OH. After retirement: Retired as Manager from AT&T in 1987 and took a part time job working as a book keeper at the church. Over 20 years on a part time job working two days a week. Hobbies: Computer Stuff, Needlework, Reading, Violin, Card making, Scrapbooking and choir. Influence: I was in awe of Mr Comstock and Mr Norton and all of my English teachers. They were great. Wilson College info: University of North Texas BA Degree Family info: One son, Mike Sterker, lives in Fort Collins, CO. Three Daughters, Pat Colman, lives in Black Foot,ID; Kathy Manyik, Fort Collins, CO, and Chris Anderson, Cedaredge, CO. I have 8 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. Job info: Worked a number of jobs, Texas & Pacific Railroad, in Dallas, married Phil Sterker and we moved to Kaufman, TX where I worked for an insurance company; then bought a ranch in Basalt, CO and worked for an attorney; then did payroll for Lockheed Construction Job building a dam on the Frying Pan River, about 14 miles from Aspen, CO. Also owned a Restaurant and Bar there. Divorced in 1980 and moved back to Texas, Conroe and worked for as City Clerk for Panorana Village, Conroe, TX. Remarried in 1992 and moved to Cass City, MI. After retirement: Played a lot of golf, lived on the golf course at Panorama Village, and also enjoyed many days of bridge. Love to read and sew, Square Dance and Round Dance, and enjoy boating and fishing here in Michigan. Hobbies: All those above. Influence: Mrs. Dice was the best ever! Colonel Bushong was wonderful also. I ended up doing a lot of bookkeeping for different companies and enjoyed my violin playing in the orchestra, and all the way through College, where we got to go on tours and do concerts. Was all a big part of my life and love of music. Colonel Bushong was wonderful also. Things Different: Not a thing. Friends: Leta Mae Dorough, Nancy Warlick, Kate Moore, Edna Jo Woodward and many, many more, especially members of the orchestra. Comments: It was a wonderful 4 years for me, I was very shy in those days, but those years helped me a lot to become more outgoing, and now nothing bothers me about being out in the public. Loved those days.
Gerding, Burt	burtgerd@ swbell.net 3801 Vineland Dr Austin,TX 78722-1208 512 477 4643	Burt was a Detective Lieutenant in Austin Texas during 1950 to1972. He was Manager of Administrative Services at Westinghouse Gas Turbine Plant in Round Rock, Texas 1972-1984. His pursuits after retirement are the Internet, women, guns, and hunting! Burt says that the NDHS influence was pretty good.

(Smith) Garrett, Florene	flogar@ultravision.net 0600 County Rd. 4022, Cedar Creek Country Club Kemp, Texas 75143-4337 903-498-4090	Florene is married to Cecil Garrett. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. She has been an accountant for about 20 years. When Cecil (who was with Ford Motor Company) was transferred to Kansas City in 1970, Florene got her real estate license, then her Brokers license and opened her own company. They sold the business and moved back to Texas after his retirement in 1983, built a home at the Cedar Creek County Club, and stay extremely busy with family, the golf course, and traveling in their motor home. She and Cecil are members of Volunteer Christian Builders, a large group of retired people who build churches all over the nation, traveling in RV's. There are several North Dallas alumnae around the Cedar Creek area, some who also live here at their club. Florene says it is fun to "remember the old days". Her children still enjoy looking through her old Viking's and Senior Pubs.
Standifer, James M. (Jim)	JMSTAND@AOL.COM 6808 Rochelle Ln Amarillo, Tx. 79109 806-354-0955	Jim and his spouse, Nell, live in Amarillo TX. He entered the Navy two months after graduation from NDHS. Luckily the war was over before he completed all of his training. He worked for Polar Bear Ice Cream and went to telegraph school after he was discharged. He started to work for Santa Fe Railroad in Aug 1947 and retired in Nov. 1989. He has been retired 12 years now and enjoys golf, traveling and his family, which consists of 2 sons and 3 step-daughters. If he had his high school days to live over, he would certainly study harder. Jim says "Don't know exactly why, but I seem to remember the girls I went to school with, better than I do the boys!!!"

She has an Associates degree from Wichita St. She is an legal assistant but has never used it . Shirley and Jerry have 4 children and 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Shirley was a professional dancer and model prior to marriage and 20 years ago decided to try again when her children were all almost gone. She has been a Seminar manager through Kelly Services for the past 21 years and she still enjoys it greatly. Her hobbies are her grand-children. She friends and teachers at NDHS have always made a difference in her life and of course The Olympiads!
Wood, Erman	eswood1@aol.com 620 Pine Valley Richardson, Texas 75081 972-234-0469	05/05/01 - Erman is married to Shirley (Patricia deceased). He graduated from Texas Tech with a B.S. in Petroleum Geology Erman is a partner in an independent firm. He is still drilling for oil and gas and will never stop working. His influence at NDHS came from Mrs. Hind and Mrs. Terry. If he had it to do over he would study.
