08/14/06  Spouse name: widow of William Pritchard   College info: My father became very ill and I had to leave North Dallas in February 1938, graduated from Phoenix, Arizona High School. Business College in Detroit, Michigan after father passed away. Mother's hometown. Have taken many courses in computers, etc at our local Junior College. Family info: I have 3 boys and 1 girl, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Job info:  Chrysler Corporation, Traverse City, Michigan School System, secretary to Superintendent  After retirement: Volunteer at Munson Medical Center, Senior Center, Cancer Society, Private school system. Have been overseas to England, Scotland, Ireland & Wales, Israel and Italy. Many Canadian Provinces.  Hobbies: Genealogy, Swimming, Hiking, Computers, traveling in U.S. and overseas. Youngest son in in Hawaii and last year I took a mule ride down a 1,750 foot seascape on the Island of Molokai. Influence: My picture in the 1938 book said I was born in Kansas, that is incorrect, it was Denver, Colorado. I was the Olympiad President, Homeroom Officer, Allied Youth and the Centennial Chorus. Remember when President Franklin Roosevelt came to Dallas and we sang to him!! Some wonderful teachers.  Things Different: The day I left the High School because of my father's need to go back to Arizona was the worst day of my life!! I loved the school and my friends and Dallas.   Friends: My best friend was Theda McMurray. We kept in touch for awhile and I know she got married, but if there has been any contact with her, or she has had children or grandchildren at North Dallas, I would appreciate the information  Comments: I do have an old photo books of the students and teachers at North Dallas 1936, 1937, 1938. If there is anything in any one of those that might be missing from your archives, let me know.

Ferguson, Martha Wray Deceased

Born July 13, 1919 in El Paso, TX, passed away October 1, 2002. Martha was a retired teacher with DISD, having given 33 years of service as an English teacher at Greiner Middle School and Sunset High School. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1938, received her Bachelors degree in Education from TWU in 1941 and began her career in teaching in Port Arthur, TX. After her Retirement in 1974, Martha continued to tutor students until the age of 79 at the North Central Texas College, Gainesville, TX. Her dedication to her students touched many lives, as was evidenced by the numerous students who remained in contact with her until death. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star, and First United Methodist Church of Dallas and Gainesville.
